East of England Winners
Holkham, Brancaster and Cromer
The 2023 ‘50 best beaches in the UK‘ feature was published by The Times on 14 July and included three of Norfolk’s beaches out of seven altogether in the East of England category, chosen from four counties in total.
Moreover, Holkham was declared the Regional winner for the entire East of England category.
The other beaches in Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Essex are Skegness, Dunwich, Felixstowe and Walton-on-the-Naze.
The inclusion of Holkham, Brancaster and Cromer is probably unsurprising but it is still something to be very proud of that Norfolk’s beaches are considered to be first class.
The feature describes ‘Holkham’s mesmeric appeal’, ‘Brancaster’s magnificent beach’, and the ‘old charms’ of Cromer, including Cromer crabs, the Bagot goats on the cliffs and ‘the last remaining full-season, end-of-the-pier show in the world’.
