As one of the Patrons of the East Anglian Maritime Awards, it gives me the greatest pleasure to write to you about this new initiative, starting this year.
The project celebrates young people who participate in waterborne activities and develop skills.
Recreational opportunities on the inland waterways, rivers, creeks, inlets, harbours and fabulous coastlines of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are inspirational. Young people are already making their mark, taking part and sharing the pleasures.
The Awards will recognise their achievements and contributions, stimulating interest in developing personal resilience, watery capabilities and competencies for life.
Please encourage everyone to nominate young people for recognition in any of four categories:
Resilience – Proficiency – Water Safety – Conservation
The criteria are broad, and the process could not be easier!
