Marking Volunteers’ Week
The valiant members of Dereham Community Litter Pickers went out litter picking yesterday (June 03) to mark Volunteers’ Week.
They set up a strategy board where people could choose where they would like to pick.
The stats from the event were:
26 people attended, including one newbie
22 bags were collected
43.1 kg of litter was picked
The next litter pick is on June 17 at 10am, starting at Cherry Tree car park. Dereham Cancer Care have kindly offered to provide refreshments at their premises afterwards. If you are in the area, why don’t you join them?

Volunteers’ Week 2023 is taking place 1-7 June and Volunteer Now is calling on communities and businesses to give volunteering a go.
Now in its 39th year, Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which sees charities, voluntary groups, social organisations, and volunteers themselves come together to recognise the incredible impact that volunteering has in communities around the UK.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘Celebrate and Inspire’.
