Arranging a visit by a DL

The Deputy Lieutenant is looking forward to the event and is most grateful for all of your preparations.  The following will be very helpful in preparation.  Please familiarise yourself with the Protocol before completion.

Please be reminded that a Deputy Lieutenant is The King’s representative and as such, must be hosted appropriately.

Please ensure a space is reserved and clearly signed close to the venue
(to include other civic or church leaders, or leaders of other organisations)
Please include an order of events/schedule for the day, including timings. Note: If there is a procession of dignitaries, the Deputy Lieutenant should enter last and should leave first.
Is the Deputy Lieutenant required to give a talk/speech?
(if so, speech points/guidance need to be provided) In any speech of welcome, the Deputy Lieutenant’s presence must be acknowledged first.
Will the Deputy Lieutenant be required to lay a wreath?
Will this be provided?
Please provide a further, fuller briefing of the event if necessary and send any recent information that might be relevant.
